This is the final illustration and typographic design of a student brief requiring a new, re-envisioned look for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
It was obvious to capture the laughing mouth that is utilized in the branding each year as it has become iconic with the event. This allowed the public to connect with the existing brand.
Hand styled typography has also been created for the branding. A heavy and angular appearance has been chosen to contrast the smooth lines of the illustration and create a youthful appearance.
Bold and vibrant colours have been chosen to add vivacity to the design as well as recreate the positive ambiance of the festival.
