Logotype design for a private client.

This logotype was designed for a client who works as a freelance hairdresser. The client requested their initials be used as the basis of the logotype, as well as capture an elegant, minimal appearance. The design also needed to avoid any incorporation of imagery that related to their job, such as scissors.
A way of creating a connection between the client and the logotype was to ‘cut’ back the structure of the characters. To do this, the initials were based on a Didone style of typeface that is characterized by extreme weight contrast between thick and thin with strong vertical stress. The thin parts of the character were removed and the thick parts left behind, creating a minimalistic logotype that captured the modern and elegant look the client was after.
